Apply for your Piws Access Card
What is the Access Card?
Think of it as a Disability Passport.
The Access Card translates your disability / impairment / condition into symbols that highlight the barriers you face and the reasonable adjustments you require. It’s based on your rights under the Equality Act and the providers’ responsibilities.
This card is accepted at venues across and outside the UK where it is simply taken at face value, and the more we show it, the more it will become recognised.
Cost: £15 for 3 years
Who Gets an Access Card?
Access Cards are not available to anyone.
The decision making is based on seeing enough information from 3rd party professionals that indicate the need for a particular type of reasonable adjustment; identified on the card by symbols.
For those on direct payment or personal care budget the cost can be included in the care plan. DLA and PIP are benefits to cover the additional costs of disability.
