Key Stakeholders

Our Key Stakeholders are organisations we collaborate with to co-design and deliver impactful projects that aim to improve the lives of disabled people across Wales. These partners are actively involved in shaping initiatives, testing ideas, and driving real change through lived experience and long-term vision.

Together, we’re working on solutions that empower communities.

Family Fund Trust:  The UK’s largest grant-making charity for families raising a disabled or seriously ill child, on a low income.  We started working with Family Fund in June 2024, we share their mission to provide ways for families to share their experiences, so they can influence lasting change on issues that matter to them.

By working together, Piws and Family Fund have co-created the S.P.A.C.E. (Stakeholder Parent and Carer Engagement) Meetings—a platform that brings families, professionals, and policymakers together to share lived experiences and shape more inclusive services across Wales.

Nimbus Disability:  Piws and Nimbus started to work together back in 2019, when there were only 45,000 registered users of The Access Card.  The company behind the innovative and award-winning Access Card, which is improving the lives of tens of thousands of disabled people every year – enabling them better access to entertainment venues.

Tourism Associations:  Encouraging disability access accross tourism is important for several reasons, and Tourism Associations in partnership with Piws have and continue to encourage their members to do the same, we have a key role to play in promoting and supporting this initiative. Since 2023, the following associations are involved:  Visit Wales, North Wales Tourism, Pemborkeshire Tourism, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

Reaching Wider:  Bangor University introduced us to Reaching Wider in September 2023, they have supported us by providing a safe space, refreshments and the AV equipment to hold our monthly Stakeholder meetings, which have developed into the SPACE meetings now facilitated by Family Fund.

North Wales Police: Throughout Piws’ journey, North Wales Police have been actively engaged and supportive, working to ensure their officers and systems prioritize accessibility within their communities. This ongoing partnership, which also includes the support of the Police Commissioner, continues to drive meaningful development in accessibility initiatives.

Bangor University:  Bangor University has been a valued supporter of Piws since before the Covid pandemic, offering an Introduction to Accessibility Awareness Workshop for students and serving as the founding host for the SPACE (Stakeholder Parent and Carer Engagement) meetings since 2023.

Livetech:  Livetech has supported Piws since its inception in 2019, recognising the importance of inclusive websites, and without their ongoing support, patience and innovation, we wouldn’t have come this far.
