Oriel Ynys Mon
You will discover an introduction to Anglesey’s history. Find out about the island’s visitors both past and present, the industries that put Anglesey on the map, the wealth of archaeological discoveries, the tragic shipwrecks, and the hunters who gradually changed their way of life to become the first farmers of Anglesey.
As a purpose built museum, arts and events gallery, Oriel Ynys Môn has so much to offer.
Visitors who wish to learn about the cultural history of Anglesey can enjoy the centre’s atmospheric Heritage Gallery which presents a vivid account of the island’s past through sound, imagery, reconstructions and real artefacts.
Oriel Kyffin Wiliams has a dynamic and changing programme of exhibitions displaying the artists’ work. This ranges from Oriel Ynys Môn’s own collection to collections borrowed from institutions and individuals. The new £1.5m gallery was officially opened by the Marchioness of Anglesey with guests from all over Wales and the UK coming together to share in the celebration.
The Oriel also prides itself on its high calibre events programme, hosting an annual programme of professional concerts, cultural evenings and recitals by many Wales’ most renowned and celebrated performers.
