Zipmas Zip World Grotto

The Zipmas Zip World Grotto brings Christmas to life 500 feet underground inside the atmospheric slate caverns of Blaenau Ffestiniog. This immersive festive experience begins with a gentle underground train journey, taking visitors down into the beautifully decorated caverns, where Santa and a host of glowing Christmas installations await. Zipmas is known for its stunning underground scenery, soft lighting, festive displays, and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Families can explore illuminated tunnels, interactive festive zones, and sensory-friendly areas created within the cavern environment. The controlled lighting and temperature help maintain a comfortable environment, making this a great option for visitors who prefer predictable sensory conditions.

Zip World’s staff are trained to support visitors with additional needs, particularly when boarding the underground train. For visitors who may not be able to access the cavern, the site also offers surface-level festive activities, making the experience more inclusive and flexible. While the underground train offers a unique accessible element, it is important to note that visitors must be able to board the carriage safely with assistance, as wheelchair direct loading is not available for the train itself. However, wheelchairs and mobility aids can be used throughout the surface-level sections, café, and shop areas.

Zipmas is an excellent choice for families seeking something different this Christmas, especially for children who enjoy immersive experiences and magical surroundings.
