16–22 June 2025 marks Learning Disability Week – a time to celebrate, raise awareness, and make space for the voices of people with a learning disability.
This year’s theme is a powerful one: “Do you see me?” It’s a call for visibility. A reminder that people with a learning disability should be seen, heard, and valued for who they are. It’s about challenging the barriers and stereotypes that still exist—and promoting inclusion in everyday life, from education and work to travel, leisure, and culture.
What’s Piws Doing?
At Piws, we’re proud to support Learning Disability Week by creating a dedicated campaign hub to showcase events happening across Wales.
We’ve added a new category under our What’s On section.
This page will grow throughout the campaign as new events are added—from community gatherings and art sessions to workshops, performances, and inclusive outdoor activities. It’s a one-stop space to see what’s happening and how you can get involved.
Hosting an Event?
If you or your organisation are planning an event for Learning Disability Week, we’d love to feature it!
Simply visit our Event submission page and select “Learning Disability Week 2025” as the category when uploading your event. This ensures it appears on our campaign page and is included in our social media and outreach.
Need a hand with uploading? No problem—get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help.
Why It Matters
Despite progress, people with a learning disability still face social exclusion, lack of representation, and limited access to inclusive spaces. Learning Disability Week is a chance to change the narrative—and it starts with visibility.
Together, through shared events and collective action, we can:
Celebrate people with a learning disability as individuals with interests, dreams, and strengths
Promote inclusive, accessible venues and experiences
Encourage communities and businesses to do more and do better
Let’s work together to make Learning Disability Week 2025 a celebration of inclusion, visibility and action.
