“Your Visit. Your Voice. Your Wales.”
The“Your Visit. Your Voice. Your Wales.” campaign aims to gather real experiences from disabled visitors to help businesses understand what is working well, identify barriers and improve accessibility for future visitors. Feedback can be submitted directly through the PIWS website or by completing a Disabled Visitor Feedback Form and leaving it with the venue visited.
The campaign supports the newly launched Croeso i Bawb accessibility initiative, which provides grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 to tourism and hospitality businesses in Wales to fund accessibility improvements and create more inclusive visitor experiences. Effective visitor feedback can provide valuable evidence to help businesses identify priorities and support future accessibility projects.
PIWS believes that accessibility is about much more than physical infrastructure.
Accessibility means different things to different people
Sometimes it is step-free access, a quiet safe space or accessible toilets. Sometimes it is clear information, understanding staff, effective communication or a flexible approach that makes somebody feel genuinely welcomed. We want to hear directly from disabled visitors about what made a positive difference and where improvements could be made.
The campaign encourages visitors to celebrate examples of good practice as well as highlight opportunities for improvement.
Feedback can include:
- Positive experiences and recommendations
- Accessibility features that enhanced a visit
- Examples of excellent customer service
- Information that helped visitors plan ahead
- Suggestions for improvements
- Photographs that help illustrate visitor experiences
PIWS hopes the campaign will help create a growing body of real-world evidence that benefits visitors, businesses and communities across Wales.
Every completed feedback listing or form can help:
- Improve future visitor experiences
- Support businesses in understanding accessibility needs
- Highlight accessibility barriers across the visitor journey
- Celebrate organisations delivering inclusive experiences
- Create greater confidence for disabled people planning days out and holidays in Wales
The campaign welcomes feedback from people living with a wide range of access needs, including mobility impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments, autism and neurodivergence, learning disabilities, dementia, mental health conditions, long-term health conditions and hidden disabilities.
How to Take Part
Disabled visitors, parent carers and people living with long-term health conditions can:
- Download a PIWS Disabled Visitor Feedback Form pdf version or word version
- Take the form with them when visiting a venue
- Leave the completed form with the venue
- Email feedback to PIWS [email protected]
- Upload feedback and photographs directly through the PIWS website
