Making Sense CIO
Making Sense CIO is an artist-led charity working across North Wales. We support people of all ages and abilities to access and enjoy creative, multi-sensory experiences in cultural and care settings, from babies and toddlers in galleries to older people living with dementia in care homes.
Our mission is to create inclusive opportunities for people to explore creativity in ways that feel accessible, engaging, and meaningful.
The Sensory Parcel Service
One of our key offers is our individual multi-sensory activity parcels, designed for people with learning disabilities, additional needs, including PMLD and autism and the person supporting them.
Each parcel includes a range of simple, sensory materials such as textures, colours, sounds, and scents to support hands-on exploration. They also include easy-to-follow activity guides for carers and support staff, with ideas for creative activities that can be adapted to suit each individual.
The parcels are designed to be flexible and can be used at home, in day services, schools, or residential settings. They aim to support connection, curiosity, communication, and creative expression, allowing each person to engage at their own pace.
