The National Library of Wales has lots to see and are very accommodating to disabilities.
The National Welsh Library has:
*4 designated disabled parking spots.
*Ground floor main entrance – including ramp and automatic doors.
*They welcome assistance dogs and provide water at the main entrance for them
*Two lifts situated near the shop area (ground floor)
*3 wheelchairs available for visitor use. (located at main entrance)
*3 access friendly toilets, 2 on the ground floor and 1 on first floor.
*Large print and audio leaflets (along with headsets) available at the reception.
Exhibition and Events Area
*Large text folders of the exhibit captions are available at various locations in the exhibit area. Visitors are welcome to carry these with them when viewing the exhibits.
*Exhibition captions are located at a low level (at the bottom of the exhibits)
There are chairs available at Gregnog gallery near the plasma screen in Peniarth area.
Reading Room
The Library has equipment in its Reading Room to aid the use of its resources:
- Smartview and AverVision machines for magnification of manuscripts
- ScannaR machine which reads text aloud
- Supernova facilities which magnify and read text aloud
- tables which can be raised or lowered as required
Our listening and viewing rooms are fully accessible.
The Drwm auditorium
The Drwm is fully accessible with a wide access wheelchair door, and spaces for wheelchairs within.
An infrared transmission system is available at the Drwm, and the best quality of sound is through a headset (these can be provided when entering the Drwm, please ask a member of staff).
Assistance dogs are welcomed within the Drwm.
