SEAS sail ability
SEAS supports disabled people from North Wales to get active and have adventures on the Menai Strait in a safe and social environment.
SEAS recognises the importance of family and carers in disabled peoples lives and SEAS is committed to providing shared experiences.
Working closely with Royal Yachting Association Cymru and Partneriaeth Awyr Agored The Outdoor Partnership to train and qualify volunteers, many whom are family/carers, so that they can be actively involved in delivering and leading the events.
The type of activity offered depends on how high the tide is:
High Water Events are when the big sailing and powerboats come out. During these events you are much less likely to get wet. High water events are more suitable if you need to stay in your wheel chair or require extra postural support.
Low Water Events are when the canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and sailing dinghies come out.
Mid Water Events are when the big boats can only be used for part of the event so a mixture of big and small boats will be out.
Booking is required due to the limited availability per event (50 people maximum per event).
